Minneapolis-Moline introduced, amid much fanfare of its own, the UDLX Comfortractor to a crowd of about 12,000 farmers in 1938. The tractor nearly immediately flopped. Farmers, still struggling with the Depression and well-known for their thrifty hardiness, balked at the $1,900 price tag.
